  In this guide we have illustrated some details about on ebay and other domains that will help you weed out the fakes. This is in no way a conclusive or complete guide to every detail about Balenciaga, but it has enough information to highly increase you chances of spotting the fake Balenciaga handbags. 6. Zippers: Authentic Balenciaga bags are made with Lampo zippers. However, Lampo makes two different types of zippers. An authentic Balenciaga Motercycle bag should have the type of Lampo zipper that is written in italics with a line underneath which extends from the bottom of the "L" and the TM symbol in the upper right corner.
The other type of Lampo zipper, which is printed in uneven, capital letters is not the type of the zipper that should be found on an authentic Balenciaga bag.

Note: The word "Lampo" should be embossed on the zipper (printed in raised letters), whereas most of the fake bags have the word Lampo engraved into the zipper.

Note: Please be aware, however, that there are many fake bags with authentic Lampo zippers. A correct Lampo zipper alone is not conclusive enough imformation to confirm that a bag is authentic. It is however, enough evidence that the bag is a phony Balenciaga Motercycle bag if the zipper is wrong.

7. Misc Balenciaga tips:

• Another important fact you should know is that all black bags that are currently produced are made with brass hardware, not silver. In fact, all of the current (all leather) bags have brass hardware. Black bags have not been made with silver hardware for a few years, and when they were made with silver hardware, they did not have a silver plate inside (they had the leather tag with "Balenciaga" on the front and style number on the back). If you see a brand new black bag with silver hardware, you need to confirm when this bag was originally purchased. If you are told that it was purchased recently, or if it has a silver plate inside, chances are that bag may be fake. The brass hardware includes the zipper on the inner wall pocket. A current colored bag should not have brass hardware on the outside and a silver zipper on the inside.
• When purchasing a brand new Balenciaga bag from an authorized retailer, the cosmetic mirror that is included with the bag comes tied around the rear handle of the bag so that it hangs. It does not come wrapped in platic. The detachable shoulder strap is almost always connected to the bag, it is also never wrapped in plastic and tucked inside the bag. You may notice that many of the bags that you find listed, will include all the "extras" wrapped in plastic. The only item that comes with an authentic Balenciaga bag that is wrapped in plastic are the extra tassels, that are included with every bag.
• Tassels rolled in a circle. Balenciaga sends extra tassels in a flat clear plastic package, that is folded up on itself, if this package has been opened for whatever reason, you may find auctions or listings that have tassels laying loose inside of a plastic package, but they never come in a tightly wound circle.
• A white string that the Balenciaga tag is hanging from... Balenciaga uses a black string for the one hanging tag that usually comes laying inside a zippered pocket of the bag, but sometimes can be seen hanging from the front.
• Balenciaga does not give their color names like "Perfectly Peach." They are given French names like "Vert Gazon" that must then be translated back into English if you're not using the actual Balenciaga name. The names even translated tend to be serious and straight forward, Grass Green, Marine Blue, Steel Gray, etc...
• Balenciaga does not put a tiny metal nameplate on the front of the bag. Their entire moto line has either a metal tag or leather tag on the inside with an indictation to the style serial number, etc. There should not be a tag on the front that says anything. If you see Balenciaga handbags that say "Balenciaga Italy" or "Balenciaga Paris" on little metal tag on the front they are fake.
