Tiffany pouch: Tiffany's pouch fabric is suede cloth. The fabric is not a smooth nap. It has highs and lows that are visible in clear photos.

Correct pouch texture and color

Beware: 99% of fake pouches are made of a cheap, low pile, faux velvet. All of the faux velvet fibers are the same height so the pouch will photograph smooth. Many times even the velvet is fake.

Sizes of Tiffany pouches are usually consistent with these dimensions:

(Most) common size: Medium 4 1/2'
Small size: 3 1/2'
Smallest size: 2 1/2'
(Less) common large sizes: 6 1/2' and 7 1/2'

[Note] These sizes may vary by no more than 1/8' due to the seam allowance.
(i) Notice that all sizes are Tiffany pouch_size [plus] 1/2 inches. The same cannot be said for most fake Tiffany drawstring pouches. [You will often find counterfeit pouches that will end in values other then 1/2. This is an automatic red _flag].
(ii) Also, on rare occasions you may see an odd shaped drawstring pouch to accommodate a specialty item. All of the information pertaining to drawstring pouches will also apply to these pouches.

More Tiffany pouch specifics:

Medium and small pouches have approximately 1/2" margin from the top of the pouch to the top row of stitches.
Larger sizes have approximately 1" margin from the top of the pouch to the top row of stitches.
The smallest pouch has a 3/8" top margin.
The fabric on the inside an authentic pouch is exactly the same as the outside of the pouch.
The inside an authentic pouch will have a pocket made of the same suede cloth. The large and odd shaped pouches usually do not have a pocket.

[Beware] → Fake pouches have a much narrower top margin.

Below is an image of a real (left) vs. fake (right) Tiffany pouch:

[Note] Notice the difference in the top margins (2). Also notice the overall discrepancy of the shapes. The authentic Tiffany pouch seems to protrude slightly at the bottom almost like a belly, whereas the fake pouch is almost streamline from top to bottom (1). Also the color of the fake is off, and the knots at the end of the strings have frayed ends.

The seams of an authentic pouch will be surged using a coordinating thread color. (Pouches dating back [two or more] decades may have a straight stitched seam rather than a surged seam. Everything else will be the same. The fading of the fabric and the imprint should indicate an old pouch).

[Note] The size of the Tiffany & Co on the front of the authentic pouch can vary. Newer pouches have smaller type than some of the older pouches .

Specific details common to all Tiffany:

Always a Tiffany blue snap pouches no matter how old the pouch is.
Tiffany pouch fabric is suede cloth. The fabric is not a smooth nap. It has highs and lows that are visible in clear photos. 99% of fake snap pouches uses a similar fabric so this is difficult to determine in photos.
Both sides and the bottom of an authentic Tiffany pouch are stitched. Most counterfeit snap pouches are not stitched across the bottom.
Snap pouches have gusseted sides and divider pocket made of the same fabric.
The stitching lines should be perfectly straight and curved around the flap.
The back of the snap nipple of an authentic Tiffany pouch has a round piece of matching fabric glued to it to avoid scratching the jewelry.
Authentic Tiffany snaps are marked on the reverse side of the flap's snap. This unique brand (� ECHT � � PRYM � 2b � ) is different than the brand of snap used on any fake Tiffany pouch. If the snap does not contain these letters, it is most likely a fake.
The reverse side of an authentic Tiffany snap on the flap has a "coin" edge.

[Note] Notice how the fake case does not have a seam running across the bottom. Also, the back side of the snap on the fake case is incorrect hardware compared to the (coin edge) authentic Tiffany snap.

Miscalaneous Tiffany tips:

In regards to the "double heart" necklaces saturating the global counterfeit marketplace, beware of hearts that apprear curved. They (should) maintain a shape like the hearts on Tiffany's tag necklace and bracelet with Tiffany & Co. Only the larger heart is engraved, the top heart is blank. Also, the hearts hang at an angle from the chain, if you're looking at the necklace, the chain should go through the left side of the heart. The fake one's have the chain going through the top of the hearts. Don't fall for those necklaces that have both hearts engraved, or that have "curved" hearts, those are counterfeit Tiffany.
Authentic "care cards" feel like a thick cardstock material. Fake cards feel flimsy.
The front of the authentic card should only say "Tiffany & Co." whereas the fakes may say "Tiffany & Co. Care of Sterling Silver."
The back of the authentic card is titled ,"CARE OF STERLING SILVER,� and should not say, "Thank you for your purchase.�
The fake cards may say "thank you for selecting this sterling silver gift from Tiffany & Co."
An authentic card mentions not using chlorine and bleach, but the fake card may not.
Authentic item comes in a beautiful bag that is made well and the color inside is the same as outside.
Fake bags may have white on the interior.
The authentic bag usually feels thicker and of more quality material. The writing on the outside feels deeply printed (embossed) within the material.
A fake printing may feel like it was (cheaply) stamped on there.
The authentic Tiffany_font looks darker and the fakes usually look faded.
The color of the fake pouches may look darker than the bright authentic ones.
Always inspect the craftsmanship of the bag in the interior and exterior.
