Louis Vuitton Buckle: The Louis Vuitton buckle, either logo or other hardware piece should be of a high quality. If the belt buckle is an LV (left), logo piece, then the LV should conform to the standard LV logo parameters as seen on most handbags etc. The most notable of these details is the bottom of the V does not touch the bottom of the L. There is a space between them. Many times counterfeiters have these letters touching at the bottom of the logo.
Stitching: The stitch lines on the outside of the belt should also conform to the high quality stitching as seen on Louis Vuitton handbags. The stitch lines should not be sloppy, out of order or irregular. They should be neatly in line, each stitch about the same width as each other. If there are some larger stitches next to a tiny stitch etc, then that would be a red flag.

Screws: The screws used by Louis Vuitton are generally flat head (-) screws, not the philips head (+) screws. Note that on the back of the buckle the screws are the correct flat head screws. Many times counterfeiters will use philips head screws. We have here an example of fake Louis Vuitton screws.
Interior stitching: The interior stitching lines should be just as high quality as the outside. Always check the stitching inside the belt. The interior is most likely where you will find a quality error. The counterfeiter will try to make the outside of the product look as good as they can, and it will be the inside where they will cut all the corners. Belt sizes: On the back of the belt should be a Louis Vuitton belt size chart. Breakdown of conversion chart:

Size stamp: This should be a quality embossed stamp impression, which means if you run your finger over it, you should feel some texture. It will not be a cheap superficial print, screen print. The size stamp should be the same quality as all the other Louis Vuitton stamp impressions, like the logo stamp and the date code etc. The Louis Vuitton belt size is usually broken up into centimeters and inches. The top number (bigger number) will be the centimeters, and the smaller number will represent inches.

Logo Stamp: Like all authentic Louis Vuitton products, there should be a logo stamp impression (heat stamp) on the item somewhere. Most likely it is located on the interior of the merchandise. On an authentic Louis Vuitton belt, the stamp will be located on the backside of the belt. The stamp should always conform to the normal quality standards of Louis Vuitton stamp impressions. The logo font (right) is the correct Louis Vuitton font, and has the correct space relations. Meaning that the logo stamp is properly centered, each section of the stamp is centered within the other sections. This is demonstrated by the yellow lines in the logo running vertically through the logo. With the lines added, it becomes easier to see the overall centering. However, if something looks off-centered or irregular, (if one side of the logo is too far right, left, up, down, etc, then that would be a red flag.


Date Codes: Just like any handbag, there will also be a date code located on an authentic Louis Vuitton belt. The parameters of the belt's date code will conform to the same as table as all Louis Vuitton date codes. In the example (left), the first two letters CT, would represent France, meaning this particular belt was made in France.










Louis Vuitton Package: The image (left) shows the whole belt package, with some of the things you should expect to see from a brand new purchase. However, the authenticity of the belt does not hinge on getting everything in the picture. Some fakes do come with dusbags, and some real belts may not have the original dustbag, (this would be an issue to ask seller about). But for a rule of thumb, an authentic Louis Vuitton belt will generally come with some sort of storage box, a dustbag, and some care books.
