Τhis tutorial we have showcased some details about
that will help weed out the phonies. This guide does not have every detail
concerning Louis Vuitton Damier,
but specific guidelines are illustrated
here to help increase your chances of identifying the
fake Louis Vuitton Damier handbags.
Combining some of these LV specific points with the universal tells we
have listed should help keep you insulated from many of the phony Louis Vuitton bags
in the viral marketplace.
We recommend that you read our tutorial Spot Fake Handbags
first, to learn the universal tips essential to build a foundation for spotting fake handbag tells. Then reinforce that
foundation with the brand specific tells we highlight here.
I. Louis Vuitton does not discount. II. Louis Vuitton does not have outlets, or seconds or irregulars. III. Louis Vuitton does not wholesale.
The first item we will be looking at concerns the stitch lines in the Damier checker pattern.
Generally you should expect between 4 and 5 stitches per square block.
Stitches per box in a Louis Vuitton Damier Keepall
Note: Notice that stitch line (A) and stitch line (B) both have the same number
of stitches per box, and that the number of stitches per box never exceeds 5. This appears to be
constant throughout the handbag. [We were hoping to detect a pattern concerning the variance
in the range of 4-5 per box, but from this particular study we couldn't identify one.] Nevertheless,
the stitch per box does appear to have an identifiable cap, and that ceiling appears to be 5
stitches.

*SpB = Stitches per box
*SpB_pass = Stitches per box passes
Note: The consistency of the
stitches per box for stitch lines A and B is worthy of noting. The boxes directly above and
below each other appear to contain the same amount of stitches. How consistent this remains
across all Damier handbags is unknown at the moment. But it is certainly worth noting
along with the SpB test.

In this next section we will be taking a look at the squares themselves. The label (and the font)
stamped within them as well as the number of detailed rows within them.
Below is an image of an Louis Vuitton label within a Damier box:
Note:The image (left) illustrates what the logo that you will find inside the square should look like:
(Top) Louis, (middle) Vuitton, (bottom) Paris. Also note the symmetry of the three impressions. The
logo should fit evenly within the box, the individual words should all be even relative to each
other. We also underlined the [LO], as the width of the (L) and the width of the (O) conform to
our [LV] Lotus test.
Note: The image (left) displays the
row by row breakdown of the cream colored pattern. The outer row is 6ax10c, and the inner row
is 5bx9d. The sum of cream line pattern dashes should be 105 (keepall). [every full bi-layered
square should display 105 cream dashes].
Note: The image (left) displays the continuation of the Louis Vuitton pattern through the
leather strip divider. Here we see that whatever color (cream or brown) that
the row ends with, the row begins again with that same color square. This is consistent
with overall Louis Vuitton pattern symmetry that is found universally on their handbags, wallet,
belts etc.
Note: Also notice the stitch lines on the
leather strip itself. Namely, quality, order and direction. The stitches are all of
equal length and in both stitch lines the stitches are shifted in the same direction. In the image
(above) the tops of all stitches (both right row and left row) are shifted left and the stitch bottoms
are further right.
