In this guide we will be detailing some important points taken off an authentic
purchased on ebay. There is (on ebay and other venues) a large number of phony Bebe products floating
around, covering the entire counterfeit quality spectrum from poor fake to great. What this guide
intends to do is give you some points of reference on an authentic Bebe piece that you can apply to
all your upcoming purchases. These details will help you avoid many of the Bebe fakes and help you secure
a good deal.
A): Image (A) above is a good example of an authentic Bebe Sport jacket tag. All
Bebe tags should
be centered within the jacket back, as well as being symmetric with respect to the lower manufacturing
square tag that is fastened to the horizontal larger tag, (as indicated in image (A) with the yellow
lines). Beware of any Bebe tag where the lower manufacturing square piece is not centered within the
larger horizontal tag. *Due to the angle of the image and the label curve,
the lines may not appear perfectly centered.
B): Image (B) displays the back of the tag. If you grab hold of the lower square tag that says
"Made in U.S.A." and lift it up, you should see something similar to what is in image (B). Here we can
clearly see that the far left of the tag has a alpha-numeric sequence running south → north
(when flipped up in this manner). This
sequence should start with a BSL. Beware of any bebe label, that when flipped up, does not display this
sequence.
BEBE SPORT label points:
1): Logo is capital letters: BEBE SPORT [different from "bebe"]
2): [Square tag] Top line- MADE IN, Middle line- U.S.A., Bottom line- S (size)
Note: Beware of Bebe pant sizes that go beyond [L]. Sizes like XL, XXL etc are generally not sizes
bebe has manufactured. This may be subject to change, but it is worth noting. Also note the USA
has "." after each of the letters.
3): The label should flip up, and the backside should have an alpha-numeric sequence
on the far left beginning with at least a B.
4): Note the texture of the label. On the backside (image B) the quality stitch
lines and stitch pattern is very visible. Be cautious if the backside of the label does not
display this quality stitching pattern.

BEBE SPORT logo square tag backside:
C1): Image (C) point 1 concerns the far left character sequence on the label. What we
wanted to illustrate in this point is that the label flaps back
(indicated by the yellow arrows under C).
The alpha-numeric sequence is stitched on the folded over (or "flap") area.
It is important to remember that the sequence is stitched on a folded over area
of the label, and
not simply the backside. C2): Image (C) point 2 is just to reference that we are looking at the backside of the same
label from the images (A+B) in the section above. C3): Image (C) point 3 is displaying the backside of the lower square flap from image (B) in the
section above. Notice that there is a second flap underneath this flap. *More on this below (C4).
C4): Image (C) point 4 is of the second flap that resides under the original
square flap from image (B) in the
section above. This shows that the square label itself has another back flap underneath it.
And this second flap should always display an alpha-numeric sequence starting with BB. D1): Image (D) point D1 illustrates the edges of the square flap. This is an important detail
concerning the BEBE SPORT label. Note the tiny white areas at the very edge of the label. This is not
colored stitching, these dots are reflections of light. The property of the thread has a reflective quality,
that when you angle it in the direct light, the tips of the fabric will shimmer. [This is an important
tell, similar to the property found on ed hardy handbag labels.] Always check for the reflective
label property by angling the label edges in
the direct light.
*More reflective label properties below
BEBE SPORT seam label:
E): Image (E) is a label that you should find within the seam of an authentic Bebe
sport clothing piece or jacket. Image (E) is displaying the side of the label
that says SPORT. However, the backside of this thin
seam label should also say BEBE. And because this is the SPORT line, BEBE should be in
capital letters.
F): Image (F) is displaying the reflect property of the seam label (as seen on the label in
image [D] above).
This is important because it
details the consistency of the Bebe label. These reflective quality points should be visible on all the
designer label areas on every piece of authentic BEBE SPORT clothing.
BEBE SPORT care instruction clothing label:
G): Image (G) is displaying the material/care label that should be found inside a
BEBE SPORT jacket, shirt etc. This label
should, (at close inspection), have a visible texture, as well as tiny points along the edges. These points are
like little shark teeth and are very hard to see. Note: At the very bottom of the tag the color should be listed. For this jacket, "black/watermelon".
H): Image (H) is showing the backside of the label in image (G). On this side the care instructions
will be written: Hand wash cold, flat dry. Do not bleach, iron on reverse cold only if needed".
*Naturally, these instructions should vary depending on the type of garment, material etc.
